Resource development

I’m a psychotherapist and occupational therapist with over 20 years of experience working across neurodivergence, trauma, and sensory-informed practice. My work sits at the intersection of relational integrity, systemic critique, and human dignity—centred particularly around the lived experiences of autistic adults navigating complex trauma, including sexual trauma and PTSD.

Early in my career, I was immersed in the medical model, learning how to “support” autistic clients by encouraging them to adapt to neurotypical systems. But as both a clinician and a mother of an autistic daughter, I came to see the limits—and the harms—of those frameworks. What was framed as care often left little room for authenticity. Over time, I began unlearning much of what I’d been taught and realigning my practice toward something more ethical, embodied, and affirming.

My current work includes creating reflective resources, clinical tools, and practitioner guides that centre the voices and needs of autistic people—particularly those whose support needs are often overlooked due to masking, shadowing, or trauma-based presentations. I'm especially interested in the phenomenon of shadowing—when identity is shaped by mimicry, camouflage, and relational survival—which I explore in both my clinical work and current writing project along with co-authoring co-creative transactional analysis with autistic adults who have experienced sexual harm.

I'm in the process of writing journal articles and collaborating with other authors on the current considerations for working with neurodivergence as well as compiling excerpts and accompany resources to support therapists, educators, and parents in recognizing and responding to these nuanced presentations with greater compassion and clarity. My hope is to offer not just frameworks, but real-world reflections—so professionals can move from checkbox competence to courageous, affirming practice.

Workshops, supervision, and consultation remain a big part of how I give back to the field. Whether I’m in a training room, writing at my desk, or walking alongside clients, my approach is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and care. I don’t claim to have all the answers—but I’m committed to asking better questions.

Offerings

I work at the intersection of psychotherapy, neurodivergence, trauma, and sensory-informed practice—where understanding moves beyond theory, and connection becomes the catalyst for change. My offerings are shaped by over two decades of frontline practice, a lifelong commitment to learning, and lived proximity as a parent to an autistic daughter.

Whether you're part of an educational team, mental health organisation, community group, or workplace, I offer insights and support that are practical, reflective, and deeply affirming.

I Offer:

  • 🧠 Workshops & Presentations — on affirming practice, autistic masking & shadowing, relational ethics, and trauma-sensitive support for neurodivergent adults
  • 📚 Consultation & Supervision — supporting clinicians, educators, and interdisciplinary teams looking to deepen their understanding of autism, sensory processing, and co-occurring trauma
  • ✍️ Resource Development — co-creating tailored tools, checklists, or guides to support best practice in education, vocational support, and therapeutic environments
  • 💬 Professional Speaking & Panel Engagement — drawing on clinical expertise, lived experience, and a passion for systems change

My approach is grounded in collaboration, curiosity, and care. Every offering is adaptable to your context—because affirming practice should never be one-size-fits-all.
